I have lived most of my life in San Antonio since the late 1950s.
However, various jobs and careers have allowed me to travel and live in many
places including Alaska, Hawaii, Wyoming, Germany, and some of the most isolated
places in the world. I enlisted in the US Coast Guard where I was a
search and rescue air crewman and survival specialist. I have worked as a
research scientist, a geo-engineer, a laboratory chemist, an environmental
consultant, and engineer until 2008 when I began training as a certified
secondary science teacher. My wife is a professor at the University of
Incarnate Word School of Pharmacy and we have a daughter, Laura, who is a senior
at the Communication Arts magnet school, Northside ISD.
